In our daily sales work, we noticed that some air compressor users do not really know how to choose the right compressor, especially if they are only responsible for the purchasing and finance departments.

Therefore, whether you are a GTL customer or not, if you have any questions about air compressor, welcome to ask us.

Now, we'll start with the basics (capacity and pressure)

Pressure and capacity are the two main specifications to look for when buying an air compressor;

- pressure is expressed in bar or PSI (pounds per square inch).

- capacity is expressed in CFM (cubic feet per minute), litres per second or cubic metres per hour/minute.

Remember: stress is "how strong" and capacity is "how much".

- what's the difference between a small compressor and a large compressor? Not pressure, but capacity.

What pressure do I need?

Most compressed air devices are designed to have pressures of about 7 to 10 bar, so most people only need compressors with a maximum pressure of 10 bar. For some applications, higher pressure is required, such as 15 or 30 bar. Sometimes as high as 200 to 300 bar or higher (for example, diving and paintball shooting).

How much stress do I need?

View the tool or machine used, which should indicate the minimum pressure required, but be sure to check the specifications or consult the manufacturer.

What size/capacity (CFM/m3 * min) do I need?

Capacity is the amount of air that can be pumped out of the compressor. It is expressed as CFM (cubic feet per minute).

This is the maximum capacity your device needs together.
