1.The difference with governor type
In fact, the control of the two alternators are voltage regulation, because the brushless DC adopts electronic commutation, so digital control can only be achieved, and brush DC is commutated through carbon brushes, using traditional thyristor and other traditional analog circuits can be controlled, which is relatively simple.
a)The brush alternator speed regulation process is to adjust the level of the motor power supply voltage. Adjusted voltage and current through the conversion of the commutator and the brush, the strength of the magnetic field generated by the electrode is changed to achieve the purpose of changing the speed. This process is called variable speed regulation.

b)The brushless alternator speed regulation process is that the voltage of the motor's power supply remains unchanged, and the control signal of the ESC is changed.The change of the rotational speed is realized by changing the switching rate of the high-power MOS tube by the microprocessor. This process called variable frequency speed regulation.

2.Performance difference
a)DC brush generator has fast response speed and large starting torque.The DC brush generator has fast starting response, large starting torque, stable speed change, and speed from zero to maximum vibration is barely felt, and a larger load can be driven when starting. The brushless alternator has a large starting resistance.Therefore, the power factor is small, the starting torque is relatively small, and there is a humming sound when starting, accompanied by strong vibration, and the starting torque is relatively small.The driving load is small when moving.
b)The brushless alternator removes the brush, and the most direct change is that there is no brush generator when the generator is running. Electric spark, which greatly reduces the interference of electric spark to remote control radio equipment.
c)Long life and low maintenance costs without brushes, the wear of brushless alternator is mainly on the bearings. From a mechanical point of view, brushless power generation.The motor is almost a maintenance-free motor. When necessary, only some dust removal maintenance can be done.
