Customer's need:

Our dealer in Nigeria placed one order for 35 units in three ratings - 10 x 45 kVA, 22 x 60 kVA and 3 x 100 kVA - all powered by Perkins engines. Each set is fitted with a residential-type canopy and a built-in ATS, so that it can be installed close to the house and starts automatically to take over the load when the mains supply fails.

The units will be used as household backup power for private residences in areas where the grid supply is unstable, keeping lighting, air conditioning, water pumps and other home appliances running during outages.

The PW-45T5S and PW-60T5S are powered by the Perkins 1103A-33TG1 and 1103A-33TG2, a family of 3.3-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engines built on the proven 1100 Series platform. The compact and robust cylinder block keeps the package small and easy to install, and the mechanical rotary fuel pump with direct injection makes maintenance straightforward.

These two models combine low fuel consumption with high load acceptance, which is exactly what a residential standby set needs: modest running cost in long, light-load hours and the ability to pick up air conditioners and pumps without hesitation.

PW-100T5S

The PW-100T5S is driven by the Perkins 1104C-44TAG2, a 4.4-litre four-cylinder unit that is turbocharged and air-to-air charge cooled. The cross-flow cylinder head optimises combustion control and helps keep the bare engine noise remarkably low, while the advanced rotary pump supplies high injection pressure for a clean, quiet burn.
